Joyce Mary Slattery Oberhoff passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026.
Joyce was born on September 20, 1943, in Norwood, Massachusetts, to John and Elinor Slattery. She attended Notre Dame Academy in Florida, graduating on June 4, 1961. During her school years, Joyce enjoyed synchronized swimming, a sport she loved.
Joyce worked for many years as the bookkeeper for the grain dryer in Needville, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elinor Slattery, and her brothers, Brent Slattery and John Francis “Jack” Slattery.
Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Calvin Oberhoff; her children, Mark Weber and wife Melissa, Dawn Douglas, Dwayne Oberhoff and wife Julia, and Alicia Terich and husband Travis; her Grandchildren, Madalyn Weber, Megan Weber, Blake Douglas, Robyn Douglas, Kyle Heater, Abigail Heater, Glenn Oberhoff, Calvin Oberhoff; as well as her Great-Grandchildren.
Above all, Joyce was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who had the privilege of knowing her. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her family, especially in Sargent, where countless family gatherings created treasured memories that will be cherished for generations.
A sincere thank you to Uplift Hospice for the wonderful care given to Joyce.
In accordance with Joyce’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date for family and close friends.
