
MARY ALICE COLLINS RODGERS, 100, passed away July 10, 2007. Born March 28, 1907 in Corpus Christi, Texas, she was a long-time resident of Houston. She was a life-long member of the Methodist Church. She graduated from Harrisburg High and retired as a secretary for the Baker-Botts law firm. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sarah McDonald Collins and William E. Collins; her husband, Martin Leon Rodgers; and daughter-in-law Peggy Jacobs Rodgers. Survivors include one son, Robert W. Rodgers of Richmond; two granddaughters, Sally Spencer and (Donnie) of Cuero, and Melanie Johnson and (Ronnie) of Fayetteville, North Carolina; three great-grandsons Colby Spencer, and Joshua and William Johnson; a great-granddaughter, Loren Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be tonight from 5:30 to 7:30 at St. John's United Methodist Church in Richmond. Graveside services will be at Newburn Cemetery in Center, Texas on Friday at 2 p.m. Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association.
