-

Capt. Tom Henry Frye died Friday, Dec. 25, 2009, in Houston.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in United Methodist Church in Wheeler.
Arrangements are by Beresford Funeral Service.

Tom was born Sept. 12, 1918, in Wheeler to Harry and Alice Frye. Tom
graduated from Sulphur High School in Sulphur, Okla., and attended
Oklahoma A&M, where he discovered the joy of flying airplanes, which he
turned into a career.

Tom married Virginia Foster on Feb. 17, 1945. Tom was a pilot for
Braniff Airways for more than 30 years, living in Dallas and Novato,
Calif., during this time.

After retiring from Braniff, Tom and Virginia moved to their home on
Cedar Creek Lake and then to his ranch in Wheeler County, being a
portion of the land originally settled by his grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia, in 2002, and two
brothers, Harry Frye and Dick Frye.

Survivors include a son, Tom Frye and wife Leslie of Spring; two
grandchildren, Taylor and Jackson, both of Spring; and a brother, Bruce
Frye of Lindsey, Okla.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to Cal Farley's
Boys Ranch, P.O. Box 1890, Amarillo, TX 79174-0001, or
