JoAnne Lilley Bramble went home to be with the Lord on October 25, 2012. She was born JoAnne Correa in Dallas, Texas to Ben and Frances Correa on November 30, 1952.
JoAnne was the devoted wife of husband, Lloyd Bramble and mother of the two greatest sons a mom could ask for, Billy Ray Lilley Jr. and Michael Wayne Lilley. The lord blessed her two sons with wonderful wives, Nancy Lilley and Misty Lilley respectively, all of whom will miss her dearly.
An adventurer at heart, but a bookkeeper/accountant most of her life, JoAnne was always ready for a challenge. She has operated a few backhoes in South Texas as well as wired extremely high tech welding robotics at General Motors. While living in Seattle, she went to college for business management, but had to come back to Houston when on September 11, 2001 the twin towers were struck. She had to come back to her family.
That was who JoAnne was, a family person. Her and
her husband of 27 years loved to have family gatherings. This was where she really shined. She was an outstanding cook who could prepare any dish from any culture without a recipe, just from tasting it as she went.
JoAnne doted on her grandchildren. She was always trying to think of something that she could do for them, cook for them, or buy for them. Even when she was feeling really bad, Christmas would always perk her up because it was a giant excuse to buy stuff for her grandchildren.
She was the middle child of seven children. She leaves behind her brothers Benny Correa and wife Marie, Lawrence Correa, Richard Correa and wife Rita, and Kenneth Correa and wife Lucy and their families. She is also survived by her sisters Carol Fuller and husband Richard, and Cynthia Pitman and her husband Rick and their families.
JoAnne was preceded in death by her loving father, Ben, but is survived by her mother Frances.
She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Faerene Hawkins and sister-in-law, FaEII Hawkins who both adored her.
Most who knew her, knew that she was dealing with liver issues from a blood transfusion that she received when she was only 21. It silently crept up on her and while she cared for her dad in his last years, it overtook her.
She was a fighter and every doctor who has seen her chart and then met her in person has been surprised at how tough she really was. She fought to the end, but the battle was taken out of her hands. She doesn't have to fight anymore. She is with the One who died for her, Christ Jesus.
In lieu of flowers, the family is respectfully asking for donations for funeral expenses. An account has been opened at Wells Fargo Bank: Billy Lilley, Jr - JoAnne Bramble
