In Memory of
Thomas Furman Jr.
-

Thomas Furman Jr. passed from this life on Wednesday, September 8th, 2010 into the loving arms of his savior Jesus Christ after a long battle with heart disease, kidney disease, and cancer.

Thomas was born August 10th, 1930 in Waterford Michigan to Lewis B. Furman and Rosella Lute Furman. He married Deborah Myers Petrich on February 18, 1989 in El Campo, Texas.

He is survived by his loving wife Deborah Furman of 21 years; his sisters Luella Karns, and Ethel McDonald. Children surviving are : Roger Reimer & wife Laurie, Thomas Furman and wife Tammy, Joseph (Skip) Furman and wife Kim; Stepsons, John Petrich, Ralph Peck and wife Sally; stepdaughter, Phyllis Wohleber. He is also survived by his 9 grandchildren and 6 great- grandchildren.

Thomas is preceded in death by his father and mother: Lewis B Furman and Rosella Lute Furman, brothers: Stanley, Bert, Harry, and Frank Furman; sisters: Blance, Myrtle and Elsie Furman; son: David, daughter Debbie Dickerson; Stepson: Jacob Petrich; grandchildren: Daniel Wohleber and Jillian Elise Petrich; and great-grandson Kade Wohleber.

Thomas was a retired machinist from Electric Boat Division of General Dynamics where he helped build nuclear submarines. He was also retired from Monsanto Plastics Division as an injection mold specialist and machinist. Tom had also worked for Western Auto for many years as a small engine repair technician.

Tom loved life—built and raced go carts, owned and rode motorcycles and built and flew remote control airplanes.

Tom loved “Country & Western” music and dancing. He had a wry sense of humor and will be lovingly missed.

Thanks to all of Tom’s doctors of which there were many. Especially thanks to dr Neal Kleiman, drs Juan J Olivero Sr and Juan J Olivero Jr., dr Karen Woods, dr Adnan Yousuf and dr Khaled Jabboury. A special thanks to the nurses and staff at doctor Jabboury’s office for making his treatments bearable and treating him with such love and kindness.

Thanks to all the family, friends and churches who have kept Tom and Deb in your prayers these many months.

Please continue to pray for our family as we learn to go forward without him.
