In Memory of
Anna Marie Coventry
-

Anna Marie Pauline Vanherle Coventry was born on October 24, 1923, and departed this world on November 4, 2022, in Houston, Texas at the advanced age of 99.

Anna’s early life began in Tienen, Belgium where she was the eldest of six children. She came to the US as a war bride in 1946, having met and married US serviceman, Kenneth Coventry, who was stationed in Belgium during WWII. Following the war, she had two children, and the family moved frequently between military bases in the US, Europe, and North Africa.

After she was widowed in 1969, Anna started a new chapter in her life by moving from California to Texas and enrolling at UT Austin as a college freshman at the age of 46. She went on to earn a degree in Accounting from UT and an MBA from St. Edward’s University.

Following a successful career and retirement from US Heath and Human Services, she once again traveled the world, and in her lifetime, she set foot on six of the seven continents.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Coventry, and survived by her loving daughters, Beatrice Blackmon, and Nancy Marquis, her granddaughters, Kimberly, Renee, and Deborah, her grandsons, James, Roger, and Jared, and eight great- grandchildren. All will miss her dearly. Anna will be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery where she will rejoin her late husband. A Memorial Service will take place at that time.
