Craig Edward D’Amico, of Houston, Texas, passed away at the age of 51 after a sudden illness on May 2, 2024, in Houston, TX. Craig was born on Thanksgiving Day November 23, 1972, at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He was one of triplets along with his brother, Alex, and sister, Sharon. They were born to Carmen (Sweeney) and Richard D’Amico. He also has another older brother named Ric.
Craig had a passion for science and physics. After high school, he studied Electrical Engineering at Southern Methodist University and then transferred to UT Austin. Later he would transfer to UT Houston where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing after changing his major.
Some of his hobbies and other interests included a love of skateboarding and building skate ramps. He also collected vinyl records of club music and enjoyed working as a DJ on occasion when he was younger. Craig had a unique opportunity to live in Taiwan teaching conversational English, one year. He also coached Taiwanese scientists, who were presenting papers at international conferences while he was there. He was a

Later on, he repaired the interiors of the mounted blades on top of the giant wind turbines out in west Texas and the Midwest. Craig truly had a variety of different careers and pursuits. Craig also had a great talent for mechanics and computers, and as a result, he became the family tech expert. Craig also approached baking and cooking from a scientist's perspective. He would sometimes go into great detail about the chemical properties and compatibilities of his magnificent creations. His favorite creations by the way, were chocolate chip cookies and various Asian dishes.
One of our last great memories together we all have of Craig was on a family Caribbean New Year’s Eve Cruise dancing, reminiscing, laughing, and celebrating all week through the Gulf to Cozumel and Costa Maya.
