David Edward Clinefelter, 76, passed away on September 19, 2024 in Katy, Texas. He was born on August 15, 1948 in Franklin, Pennsylvania to Russell Edward Clinefelter and Treva Claire (Golden) Clinefelter.
David Clinefelter, a great father and grandfather, was a kindhearted and generous man who grew up in Franklin, PA. He had many fond memories of his life with family and friends throughout the area. He moved to Houston and made it his home for over 40 years. In this time, his kind-heartedness and generosity helped him to make friends easily. He always cared for his co-workers, neighbors, children, and grandchildren. He had a passion for music but was especially fond of hits from the 60s. He took the time to impart as much wisdom as possible to those he cared for.
David Clinefelter was an avid reader of the Bible. He rarely if ever missed a night to read the Word of God. He had a sense of humor that made one think and dig for the punchline. It was his signature style. Although he was not big on crowds, he liked being around family and close friends when possible because he loved to hear about what was going on in our lives. He was very easy-going which made him very easy to talk with. He especially liked to talk about sports and family.
With his new home, and new energy from our Lord, Jesus, he is enjoying his time and making friends up in paradise with a renewed and thankful heart. He will be sorely missed for sure. We are grateful for the wonderful things he imparted to us and for the wonderful father, grandfather he was. We are grateful to the Lord for the chance to see him again.
He is survived by his two sons, Matthew David Clinefelter & wife Courtney and Chistopher John Clinefelter & wife Mariela; grandchildren, Camden, Grayson, Hina, Caylie, LaMya, Lindsey, Leah, Lisa, and Lorenzo; and his brother, James "Jim" Clinefelter & wife Sheryl.
The Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 27, 2024, at Second Baptist Church - West Campus (19449 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77094). Burial will be at 1:30 PM at Forest Park Southwest Cemetery (9040 FM 359, Richmond, TX 77406).
