Dorothy Nell Clement, met Our Heavenly Father on Sunday, February 10, 2019 while at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital.  She was born October 3, 1944 to her parents Rector Lynn Heckel and Bernice Helen (Chase) Heckel in San Antonio, Texas.  Dorothy graduated from Harlandale High School in San Antonio, Texas; and studied at San Antonio College where she also participated in water ballet.  She was employed by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, Texas State Hospital, Purdue University, and Southside Church of Christ as a secretary.  Dorothy loved children, and found herself working Mother’s Day Out, Vacation Bible School, the afterschool program at Sugar Grove Christian School; and being a foster parent to over 33 babies.  She loved her family and her God.  Dorothy enjoyed cooking/baking, jigsaw puzzles, board games, bowling, traveling, swimming, crafts, oldies and Christian music, and watching a good musical.

Dorothy is preceded by her parents, Rector Lynn Heckel and Bernice Helen (Chase) Heckel; and brother Charles W. (Mike) Heckel.  She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Dale Lynn Clement, daughter Lynda Dianne (Clement) Carlisle, son Gregg Lynn Clement, grandchildren Christopher W. Carlisle and Haylee R. Carlisle; sister-in-law Kathy Heckel; nephew William Shane Heckel and his wife Angie Heckel.

Dorothy’s Visitation and Memorial service will be held at Sugar Grove Church of Christ on March 9. 2019 @ 1:30 pm.  The family is thankful for the love and support of family and friends; Sugar Grove Church of Christ; and Beresford Funeral Services.
