Elizabeth K. Camacho went home to be with the Lord on May 2, 2020 at age 60.
Elizabeth was born to Mr. & Mrs. Efren & Esther Abreo on April 24, 1960 in Big Spring, Texas. While Elizabeth grew up in Big Spring for most of her childhood, she attended high school in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Austin, Texas completing her high school education and graduating from Lanier High School.
Elizabeth met her husband, Robert G. Camacho in 1979 at church at Primera Iglesia Bautista in Austin Texas. They married in 1981 in Austin and went on to have three children; Nicholas Ryan Camacho, Andrew Abreo Camacho and Lauren Elizabeth Camacho . Elizabeth’s joy also came from her two beautiful granddaughters, Mia Elizabeth Camacho and Maci Elaine Camacho for whom she had unending love and affection.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother, Elizabeth also loved her dog - Chico, cooking family favorites, experimenting with new recipes, creating hand-made quilts for family and being challenged by 1000 piece puzzles. Elizabeth found happiness and joy by spending time with close and extended family and friends.
Elizabeth and her family found support and encouragement during her five-year fight with ovarian cancer by participating in Ovarcome (www.ovarcome.org) whose mission is to raise global awareness, to fund research in search of a cure, and to provide financial support to underserved women in the U.S. as well as developing nations in their valiant fight against ovarian cancer.
Throughout her entire life, Elizabeth held an unwavering faith in God and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior early in life. She shared and demonstrated God’s love with those who surrounded her.
Elizabeth joins her very recently deceased sister, Elma Jean Gonzales and her mother, Esther Abreo in Heaven. Elizabeth is survived by her husband of thirty-nine years Robert G. Camacho; children Nicholas R. Camacho, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew A. Camacho, Lauren E. Camacho and grandchildren Mia E. Camacho and Maci E. Camacho. Father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Efren Abreo, brothers, Michael Abreo, Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Abreo and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd (Debra) Archuleta and her family as well as numerous extended family.
