
We are heartbroken to announce the death of our father, Felipe “Papo” Villalobos, who passed away peacefully at the age of 77 years old surrounded by his family. He was born in Monterrey, Mexico and spent his youth living in Austin, Texas with his family and friends.
Felipe graduated from Johnson High School in Austin and joined the Army in July 1967 for a brief time before being Honorably Discharged in 1968. He married his high school sweetheart, Annie Escobedo, a year later and soon moved to Houston, Texas to start their life together for the next 48 years.
Felipe worked for over 23 years with Hughes Tool Corporation in manufacturing and additional
Felipe loved his families (Villalobos, Escobedo, Ivory), baseball and UT Football. He worked hard long hours and still found time to coach his son’s Little League baseball teams. Luckily, he was able to enjoy his favorite Houston Astros win MLB Championships.
Felipe is preceded in death by his parents, Aniceta Flores Villalobos and Refugio Ysla Villalobos, brothers Gabriel Villalobos, Jesse Villalobos and Gregorio Villalobos and sister Susana V. Arevalo.
Felipe is preceded in death by his wife Annie Marie Villalobos: brothers-in-law Gilbert Escobedo and Mack Escobedo.
Felipe is survived by his remaining siblings, Joe Villalobos, Veronica Villalobos, Julia Padilla and John Villalobos; 2 sons, Samuel C. Villalobos and wife Olivia, James Villalobos and wife Gloria; 4 grandchildren Carolyn, Rachel, Jason and Valerie; and numerous nieces, nephews, godsons and goddaughters.
Visitation is scheduled from 6:00 PM – 9:00PM on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Beresford Funeral Service. Mass will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at 11:00 AM at St. Martha’s Catholic Church and burial the following day, January 27, 2023, in Austin, TX at Assumption Cemetery.
The family would like to thank you for your prayers and support, but most importantly the love and kindness given by the Ivory family.
