In Memory of
Jack McCoy
-

Jack McCoy, 86, of Meadows Place, Texas, died on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, in Sugar Land, Texas. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on September 20, 1928, he had resided in Houston for the past 52 years. He graduated from Sand Springs High School, served in the Air Force and received a BA in Business from the University of Tulsa. Jack married Mary Ruth Stinchcomb on March 28,1952. He was employed 32 years with Getty Oil Company.

Jack was a loving father of four children, a dedicated grandfather of eight, an avid gardener and a great story teller. There wasn't a person Jack met that he didn't remember their full name and where they were from. Jack will always be fondly remembered for his teasing and sharp wit, funny faces, and sense of humor. He always joked about having "favorites" in our family but it was a secret who they were. His family looks forward to seeing him again in heaven to find the answers to that.

Jack is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, three children: Robin Boyd and husband Gary, Daniel McCoy and friend Shari, and Dayna McCoy; son-in-law Charles Gibbs; five grandchildren: Britney Bowie and husband Jon, Tyler Boyd and wife Jenny, Felicity McCoy, William McCoy and Catherine McCoy; three great-grandchildren: Michael Bowie, Arianna Bowie and Aubrey Boyd; brother Wayne McCoy and wife Betty, and sister Pauline Sexton. Jack is proceeded in death by daughter, Lisa Gibbs and brother Jim McCoy.

I met Jack a few years ago, and he immediately welcomed me into his home. He won my heart with his stories. After I met him, I knew why his children were so kind. I will miss him, but I am glad to have met him.

To the greatest man I know! I will miss you so much but know you will be watching down on me always. I can't wait to teach Weston all the fun things you did with us to make our childhood so great (slow races, the different kinds of country music, making me and Tyler sit and stare at each other when we got in trouble). You are the world's best Pawpaw!
Don't worry I won't tell anyone that I'm your favorite!

I remember Uncle Jack having a great sense of humor and smiling. We always loved when he and the family came to visit in Tulsa...he was a kind and gentle man....God Bless his family. My sincere condolences.

Mr. McCoy, thanks for having such a good sense of humor almost 40 years ago when I use to wrap your house in toilet paper thinking that this would somehow impress Robin. You were a good sport even though breaking my legs had to cross your mind. I appreciate the restraint. Your family loves you and will miss you until that time comes when everyone is back together again. And who knows maybe one day I will wrap your Heavenly House for old time sake.

Your friend always, James.
