In Memory of
James Brown "Jim"
-

James Edward Brown, 51, of Houston, Texas passed away Friday May 18th, 2012. He was born on Christmas eve 1960 to the late Clarence Brown Sr. and Elizabeth Ann Brown. James was a beloved husband, father, friend and neighbor.

James spend over 20 years working for Central Freight Lines as a humble truck driver. While working at Central he met the love of his life Deanna. After many years of loyal service to Central he was injured and thus began his long struggle with back and neck surgeries. He never let that slow him down though.

In 1999 James and Deanna were married and had a son, Levi. He had his first surgery and spent most of his healing time caring for his newborn child. His injury only brought him closer to his family and allowed him to be a devoted father and husband.

James enjoyed hunting, fishing, and all things mechanical. He especially enjoyed sharing his wealth of knowledge with his son. He loved working on cars and even just spending time with outside with the neighbors. Any person that had the privilege of being his neighbor knew of his giving spirit and thoughtful nature.

James will be missed very much by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Deanna Brown, son, Levi Brown, daughter, Melinda Hales, sister, Rose Ford, three brothers, Andrew Brown, Clarence Brown Jr. and Richard Brown and additional relatives and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions payable to the “James Brown Memorial Education Fund” for his son Levi. Please mail donations to:

Every man seeks to surround himself with other men that he respects and that he honors. He does this because subcontiously he hopes someday to live up to their standards. James Brown set the bar high. I thank god he allowed me into his circle.

Mr. James will be missed by many. Buster and I have so many fond memories of our vacations, holidays, birthdays and special occassions that we spent w/James and Deanna. From the Ozarks down to South Padre Island and many places in between. Deanna, Melinda and Levi, God will give you the strenght you need during this time. John 14:1-4 “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.”

What a wonderful brother Jim was!! He was always the first one to help with anything. He was a great uncle to all the kids and loved them so much. My kids have so many fond memories of Uncle Jim, He was there for them so many times and was the first one to scold them for "mooning" him many years ago. He will truly be missed, but we will hold him in our hearts from now on.

Mr.James was a very loving and nice man. He was my neighbor and him and his family have been so nice to us since we moved into the neighborhood few years ago. He watched our house whenever we travelled overseas and he was one in a million, him and Levi helped me changed the starter in my truck about a month ago, he was always there for us. May God grant him eternal rest and be with the loved ones he left behind (Amen). May his soul rest in peace(Amen).

Deanna, Melinda and Levi,

My heart is broken. James will be sorely missed. He was the kindest, most loving and caring man that I know. He was always concerned about everyone else, and the old saying he would give you the shirt off his back was written because of people like James.

I love him, and I love you guys. I know you are overwhelmed with sorrow and I pray to God that James sends down just a bit more of his loving and caring to help you all find a little comfort.

I am sorry to say that I am working out of town and will miss the service, but my heart and soul will be there with James and my thoughts and prayers will be with you.

Please let Leen and I know if we can help you with anything.

Love Terry

We never looked at James as a son-in-law - to us, we couldn't have had a more blessed son! James, his Sister, Rose, His brothers, Andy & JR, & their wonderful wives & children always made Bubba & I feel like we belonged in the family & friends! James was a true family man - It didn't matter - nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers, sister, or his own immediate family - His family was ALWAYS FIRST!! He raised Melinda as if she were HIS own daughter, and the values & trustworthiness he instilled in her & the son he was so proud of - Levi - will enable them to carry on in this old world, and to be good children to their Mom. Dee. SO much more we wish we could have said, but James is up There & He knows how we felt about him! A couple months ago was the last time we got to share with James - We shared some special and emotional feelings, although the time was too short. We will all look forward to the day we see him again & though we are so sad at this time, we find solace in the fact that James is"In God's Hands" & will feel no more pain again! We loved him so very much!!

I have a hole in my heart today, but I look at Levi and I see James. I love the picture of James because that is how I remember him - always smiling. He had such a caring soul. Deanna, Melinda and Levi.....just remember that you will always be part of our family and we love you very much. I pray that God wraps his loving arms around you as you grieve and grants you some peace.
Love, Linda, Tony, TJ, Jeri Ann and Levi

I consider it a privledge that I called James "friend". I am so thankful that we were able to go on a cruise together a few years ago. What wonderful memories.

I am reminded of John 17:11. Although these words were spoken by Jesus, I feel they are coming from James now.

John 17:11 "I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one."
