In Memory of
James Emerson
-

James "Jim" Emerson October 8, 1924 - November 18, 2013

Jim, age 89, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 18, 2013, surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Houston, TX to Roy and Lelia Emerson who preceded him in death. He is survived by Charlsie, his wife of 58 years; his daughter, Patti Emerson and son, Jay Emerson, both of Houston; his grandson and his wife, J.J. and Cheehwa Emerson and one great-granddaughter, Jasmine, of Irvine, CA; his favorite sister-in-law, Della White of Bay City, TX and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, Jim will be dearly missed by those who were blessed to know him.

He was a WWII vet and served in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Marathon Oil Co after 40 years and enjoyed a long retirement. Family, friends and fishing were the highlight of his life. He also very much enjoyed cooking and was everyone's "Mr. Fix-It." Jim had an extremely kind heart and never met a stranger; His sparkling blue eyes and sense of humor were evident where ever he was.

A celebration of Jim's life will be held on Saturday, November 23 at 11:00am at Bethany Christian Church, 3223 Westheimer Rd., Houston, TX 77098. Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, Texas.

I remember Mr. Emerson as a truly good man with a great sense of humor. (LOVED to hear him speak Spanish!) Gloria and my prayers of comfort are with Patti, Jay and Charlsie.
