Jan Ely Aronson of Houston, Texas passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on December 1, 2022 after a fifteen month battle with Leukemia. She was born July 24, 1952 in Houston, Texas to Ed and Marty Ely.
Jan attended Robert E. Lee High School followed by Texas Woman’s University and received her Registered Nurse certification. She loved being a RN before retiring after 43 plus years of service.
Jan was preceded in death by both of her parents.
She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years Daniel Aronson. Her son Robert Dijkman of Lewisville, Texas. Daughter Mary Elise (Lisa) Dijkman and fiancé David Cabrera. Grandchildren Cpl Payton Canales of 29 Palms, California, Kiara Dijkman and Brianna Cabrera of Katy, Texas. Brother Ned Ely and wife Linda of Alvin, Texas, nephews Matthew and Andrew Ely. Sister Alison Watson and husband Paris, niece Carrie Mata and nephew Chris Collins.
There will be a Memorial Service on Monday, December 5, 2022 from 1pm to 3pm in the Chapel of Beresford Funeral Home.

Our precious Jan was the epitome of goodness, kindness, compassion and wit - such a joy, such a special human being. We Peytons were so blessed to have her in our lives; there is a void now that will not be filled. She was loved beyond words and will forever be in our hearts.
