Johnny Edward Pullin Jr., was born in Beaumont, Texas on December 6th, 1972, to Johnny Edward Pullin Sr. and Marcell Darkins. Shortly after, his family moved to Southern California, where he was raised by his father, his mother and his stepmother, Alice. He graduated from Rancho Buena Vista high school.
In his 20’s, Johnny began his education at trade school and studied IT. He started his illustrious IT career at the prestigious telecom company, AT&T. Around the same time, he developed an interest in real estate investing. He followed his heart and dreams, and with immense determination, he was able to achieve remarkable results in flipping properties in Southern California. As one of his true passions throughout his life, he was knowledgeable about this business inside and out.
Around 2010, Johnny and his family moved to Houston, Texas, where he continued his IT career as a Systems Administrator. His last place of work was the DFA, where he was loved and appreciated, and meant a great deal to his team. His manager said about him, “He was more than enough. He was the right guy at the right time. His skill set was the perfect match
for his position, and he performed his role to perfection”. Despite his brilliant skills in IT, he was always striving for more. He was constantly learning new programs and updating his certifications. In the recent months, his goal was to train and teach others about IT.
Johnny was truly an adventurous soul—a man of passion. One of those passions was traveling and exploring the world. He would hop on a plane every chance he had. He visited the most amazing places on Earth: Thailand, Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, Greece, Colombia, Mexico, and the Caribbeans; and of course, he also took numerous road trips around the US.
Another one of his great passions was his pontoon boat. He would often take it to Lake Conroe and try to catch some catfish or would just relax on the deep waters.
Johnny was a man of passion and determination. Any idea he was passionate about he would put it into action and execute it with mastery, and it would undoubtedly be a success.
He was very loving, caring, giving, generous, and sweet. He always put his family and loved ones’ needs above his own. He was always there for his family and those who mattered to him till the end. Every time he came across someone in need, he made it his mission to not only help that person, but to get them to a better situation. He had a zest for life and truly lived every day to the fullest.
Our dearest Johnny has left an indelible impression in all our lives. He is survived by his beloved children, Marleisha, Erika and Dominic; his grandchildren, Myles and Azrael; his parents, Johnny Edward Pullin Sr. and Alice Pullin; his grandmother, Lula; his brothers, Glenn and Carl; his sisters, Brandy, Marquenetta, and Jenna; and his aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and everyone lucky enough to have gotten to know him and those who truly loved and cared for him. He is preceded in death by his mother, Marcell Darkins; and his adopted sister, Renee Ridgeway.
Forever in our hearts, with love from family, friends and loved ones.
