Kamal Elias Nader, of Houston Texas, passed away on 1/31/2023 at 11:42 am at the age of 82 at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Houston. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was born on 10/13/1940 in Palestine to Elias & Ghatassi Nader, one of six children: Toufic, George, Anis, Georgette & Marie.
Kamal and his wife Abla, brought their family to America in 1967, so that his children can grow up with access to education and an opportunity to make their dreams come true. He didn’t know one word of English, but he was a quick study. In the early years, he worked three jobs to support his family and never complained. He made a life for himself and his family settling in Buffalo, NY. In 1982 he moved his family to Houston, Texas. He worked as a businessman which afforded him a life of world travel for many years. He owned and operated various businesses from travel to restaurants.
He and his wife were faithful members of the Lady of the Cedars Maronite church. He enjoyed reading the paper every morning, playing cards, poker, and loved sports. His favorite sport was Football. The Buffalo Bills and the Houston Texans were his favorite teams. Most of all he loved his family and was a great provider, mentor and companion. He was loved by everyone who met him. If you were invited to Kamal & Abla’s house for dinner or an event, you were sure to have the best time, food and company.
He shared his life with Abla Shamieh Nader, his wife of 57 years, until her passing on 12/31/2020. They raised three children, Caroline Edwards & her husband Joe, Ann Hrieshie & her husband Imad & Fredrick Nader & his wife Ramona. They have 6 grandchildren: Paul, Andrew, Sylvana, Kami, Abriana & Sabrina and 2 great grandchildren, Aubri & Chase.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Toufic, and sister Georgette Mundous.
Services will be held on Monday, February 6, 2023, at the Lady of the Cedars Church located at 11935 Bellfort Village Dr. Houston, TX 77031. Visitation will be from 6:00-6:30pm, followed by the Rosary from 6:30-7:00pm and Service Mass at 7pm. Immediately following there will be a Mercy Meal offered in his memory.
Burial will be on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at 10:30am at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery located at 12800 Westheimer Rd. Houston, TX 77077.

The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and nurse practitioners that took care of our father for the last 16 days of his life, at St. Luke’s Medical Center. We especially want to thank all of our family and friends here locally and abroad for the love and support you have given us during this very difficult time. We love you!
