In Memory of
Karen Melanie Burke Ladage
-

Born August 6, 1961, in Kingston, Jamaica to parents Stewart Anthony Clinton and Norma Carlene Burke.

She was the middle child, preceded by her eldest sister, Nicola Anne Burke, and followed by her your younger sister, Tracy Nadine Burke Trahan.

She is survived by her sisters, Nicola and Tracy, her nephew Alexander, her cousins Sheri Ann and Kandee Lee Forbes, Audrey and Adrian Burke, Camille Myers, and Aunt Joyce Burke, along with countless friends who became her family.

She was married to Richard Dudley Ladage, celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary on October 19, 2021.

She lost her beloved husband on December 2, 2021, an endless love she carried in her heart.

Karen was very active in ministry and various classes at Victory Christian Center including the upcoming EPIC class she was due to lead.  She handled the administrative elements, as well as was a student of the Create Academy lead by Teresa Dedman Ministries.  She was a student of life, constantly learning, constantly teaching, constantly loving, constantly giving of herself to all those who knew her, even if it was the first time meeting.  She was truly a disciple going out sharing the Good News and living God’s love and Grace.

She was a daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, wife, friend, teacher, minister, poet and artist, and most importantly, a servant of God.  No doubt upon her home-going, she was greeted with the words, well done My good and faithful servant.

She was taken from us all too soon on Tuesday, August 2, 2022.

She will be missed beyond measure.  The void of her absence will never be filled, although we have comfort in knowing that for her, to be absent in the flesh is to be present before God.

You will live forever in my heart, Karen! The memories we have shared since our adolescent years are unforgettable! Time goes by so fast, but the love is forever. I will see you again, and until we embrace, we will continue to talk in my prayers and in my heart. I Love You, Sweet Angel!
