In Memory of
Paul James Heinke
-

After a long battle with cancer, Paul James Heinke of Baytown, Texas passed away on January 12, 2020 at the age of 58. He was born June 12, 1961 in Houston, Texas to Delmas and Jacquelyn Heinke. Paul was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church on Sherman Street in East Houston and later served as an acolyte at Our Savior Lutheran Church and Gethsemane Lutheran Church, both in Houston, Texas.

After primary school, Paul joined the U.S. Navy serving at Duty Stations in the U.S., as well as overseas.  When Paul returned from the Navy, he was employed in the construction business and became a Master Carpenter working in the new home construction business. He later applied his skills in the rebuilding and remodeling of his own home as well as many others that were damaged and practically destroyed following floods and storms in the Houston area.  Almost all of the community work that Paul did by helping to repair and save these damaged homes, was done only for a “Thank You”.  Because to him, he was doing this as a friend for a neighbor.  In his healthy working days, it was said that he never dropped a nail, never missed hitting a nail and never had a mashed finger or blackened fingernail. He later joined the family business of trucking and warehousing, which specialized in the movement and storage of all types of products in the International Import-Export trade.

Paul was preceded in death by his birth mother, Jacquelyn Heinke. He is survived by his son Paul James Heinke the second, his Dad and Mom, Delmas and Marie Heinke, and his brother Wayne Heinke and wife Lori.

The family offers a heartfelt “Thank You” to his Baytown friends and neighbors that loved and cared for him during his most trying days.

Funeral services will be held on January 18, 2020 with Pastor Donald G. Black of Trinity Lutheran Church, Houston, Texas, Officiating.
