I’m so sorry to hear of Tonya’s passing. She was so kind and knowledgeable, I enjoyed working with her. Many prayers to her friends and family.

Corporal Officer Tonya Lenetta Douglas, 66, passed away on September 27, 2022 at Harbor Hospice in Houston, Texas, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 13, 1956 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Sir Alfred Morris Van Fossen Sr, OSJ and Mary Sue Van-Fossen as the oldest of eleven children.
Corporal Humane Officer Tonya Douglas, a 25-year veteran of the Alvin, Texas Police Department retired on March 23, 2021. She departed after a long and courageous battle with metastatic endometrial cancer. She was surrounded by her family and friends when she left this world.
Tonya is survived by her 3 children, Feleicia Carlisle and husband, Brian Tovar of Porter, Texas, Justin Douglas and wife, Sabrina Roesselet of Seabrook, Texas, and Sophia Carlisle-Suarez of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren, Santino Resendez, Jacob Resendez, Joven Resendez, Raven Douglas, Kade Douglas, Mikaela Roesselet, Emryn Douglas, Jessie Carlisle, Alyx Suarez, Emilio Suare, and Anthony Suarez; 6 siblings, Gina Van Fossen-Suarez and husband Martin Suarez, Wanda Stone, Francis Thomson, Michael Van Fossen, Pamela Cavazos and husband Edward Cavazos, Alfred Van Fossen Jr and wife Kathy Van Fossen
She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Garrick Van Fossen, Larry Van Fossen, Terry Van Fossen, and Maria Van Fossen.
Services will be held on Wednesday October 5, 2022 at the Chapel of Beresford Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 10 am to 11 am. The funeral will begin at 11am and ends at 12 pm. Burial will follow at Carmen Nelson Bostick “A Garden of GOD” Cemetery. Cemetery service will begin at 1 pm.
The family would like to especially thank the active and retired members of the Alvin Police Dept, COP STOP, Dalia’s Flowers, Crafts and Art, and all her friends who have been so supportive and helpful.
