In Memory of
Tristen Luella Johnson
-

Tristen Luella Johnson, 14, passed away on July 26, 2012. She was born on February 21, 1998 in Payson, UT.

She is survived by her parents, Stephen Casey Johnson and Pearlette Hicks Johnson; siblings Krystle Pearl Johnson, Sjon Trent Johnson, Ian Stephen Johnson and Maegen Alexandria Johnson; grandparents, Stephen Morgan Johnson, Thelma Luella Johnson and Pearl Jean Hicks. Tristen passed away with her sister, Madeliene Dianna Johnson, on the same day.

Though Tristen’s life was short, it was full. She had a passion for helping others, loved unconditionally, and provided hugs to any and all who needed them. She was a purple belt in Kickstart (Karate) and was considering moving forward to obtain her black belt. Earlier this spring, Tristen, competed in her first solo vocal competition and was looking forward to expanding this talent by participating in the high school choir. Additionally, Tristen was an avid reader and aspiring author.

Tristen was very involved in her church, having served in multiple youth leadership positions. She was on track to earn her Young Women’s Recognition award. Prior to her passing she participated in her third youth summer play, acting and singing. She had a firm testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and loved to share that with all who would listen.

Tristen was a wonderful, compassionate daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend. She will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

I had the pleasure of working with Tristen when she attended Oyster Creek Elementary where I was librarian. I was so fortunate to know Tristen and her family. I saw the family often at OCE events and it was obvious what a close family you have and I know this is such a difficult time. My heart goes out to you and you are in my thoughts and prayers.

We have just moved to Ireland from the states and your son Elder Johnson is serving in our Branch in Bray. We are so inspired by his faith and courage in continuing to serve as a missionary during this time of grief. We have a daughter named Madeleine so Elder Johnson's testimony was especially touching to us. Our family is so sorry for your loss and pray for comfort and peace to you all.
