In Memory of
Yvonne Dry LaSalle
-

After battling heart disease and COPD Yvonne LaSalle went home to meet her Lord and Savior Thursday afternoon, January 22, 2015 in Spring, Texas. At the time of her death she was 82 years old. She was born in Emit, Oklahoma to Elmer and Edith Dry. She moved to Houston with her family as a young girl where she spent the majority of her life.

She was preceded in death by her childhood sweetheart J.V. her husband of 65 years, her parents, and two sisters Doris and Freda Sue.

Yvonne enjoyed singing along with her family and friends while her husband played along on his guitar. She enjoyed going on road trips to different places and especially loved Luckenbach, Texas. Singing around the camp fire while J.V. played the guitar gave her great joy. She was the glue that kept her family together. She could cook anything and her homemade biscuits and gravy along with her cornbread were the best ever. She was a good seamstress and made a lot of her daughters school clothes and Jackie Kennedy style clothes for their Barbie dolls as well.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed reading all types of books. Her bible was always near her bed and favorite chair. Her favorite author was John Michener, and would reread his epic novels several times.

Yvonne is survived by her daughter Brenda and husband Cliff Moseley of Magnolia, Texas, daughter Kim and husband Ralph Jester of Sealy, Texas, and son Jim and wife Linda of Kingwood, Texas. She was blessed with five grandchildren, Yvette and husband William Christian, Bryan and wife Ann Lee Moseley, Jason and wife Theresa Jester, Mandy Jester Cox and husband Jason, Rochelle and husband Duane Hanson, and Laurie LaSalle; and seven great grandchildren, Caleb and Grace Christian, Elizabeth and John Moseley, Dusty Jester and Tyler Hansen, and Zach Hanson. She is also survived by her brother Dan and wife Brenda Dry.

She lead a full life and enjoyed watching her children grow and making “Memmaw Punch” for her grandchildren. She especially enjoyed visiting with her great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church.

A visitation with the family will be held on Friday, January 30, 2015 at 10:00 AM. Services will follow at 11:00 AM with Pastor Carl E. Fitzgerald officiating. Both will be held at Greenridge Missionary Baptist Church, 15001 Chipman Lane, Houston, TX, 77060. Internment will follow at the Houston National Cemetery (10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038).

Aunt Yvonne represents family to me. I loved the way she laughed, the way she made you feel at home when you visited, her memories, and how much she looked like my mom. She was so good over the year to my sisters and me. I am saddened by her passing but know she missed Uncle JV so much. I saw her a couple of months ago and she was feisty as ever. May you be reunited with the people you love. Tell Uncle JV, Grandma, Papa, Aunt Freda, Danny, and most of all mom hello and that we miss them. Hope you all get to hang out and drink coffee together. That's how I remember you all the most. Sitting at the table talking and drinking coffee. I love you forever and always.
