Celebrating the Life of Funsho Benjamin Fajemirokun

Funsho Benjamin Fajemirokun, affectionately known as “Big Ben,” passed away at the age of 49 following a tragic workplace accident in Cypress, Texas on May 15, 2026. Born on November 4, 1976, in Ebute-Meta, Lagos, Nigeria, he was the second of four children of Olu Fajemirokun and Toyin (Mustapha) Fajemirokun.

Education and Career

Big Ben graduated from Ilupeju College in Lagos, Nigeria in 1995. He went on to Lagos State Polytechnic, where he received a National Diploma in Business Studies in 1999. Driven by an eagerness to learn and grow, he furthered his education by completing a Diploma in Internet Technologies at Training Solutions in Ikeja, Lagos in 2002.

In 2018, he moved to Minnesota, later settling in Houston, Texas. There, he met and married the love of his life, Taiwo Aiyegbusi Fajemirokun, in 2019. For seven years, Big Ben worked as a robot technician at Daikins, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues.

Faith and Family

Big Ben was a devoted member of CAC Covenant of Mercy, where he faithfully attended and participated in church activities. He was known for his relentless curiosity, as an information seeker and fact finder, always keeping up with current affairs. But above all, he was a family man—an outstanding provider, mentor, and companion. His love and dedication to his family were unwavering.
