Mr. Rushing is preceded in death by his parents Richard Rushing Sr. and Susie Lawson Rushing. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Lou Rushing; sons Ken Rushing of Katy, Tx, Ricky Rushing of Mobile, AL; daughters Mitzi Overby and husband Russell of Lake Charles, LA, Debbie Ward of Mobile, AL; granddaughter Ava Overby of Lake Charles, LA; and many other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends on January 7, 2011 between 6:00 an 9:00 pm at First Apostolic Church in Highlands, TX.

Brother Rushing was truly a gentleman in every sense of the word. He was a Godly man who always had a kind word and smile for people, no matter how he was feeling. May God bless Sister Rushing, Kenny and Mitzi as they mourn the loss of their beloved husband and father.
