Terry Lee Clemmer, Jr.

Private First Class, 71, Terry Lee Clemmer, Jr, died on June 8th, 2022.  Terry was born at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, on February 8th, 1951.  He graduated from Treadwell High School in Memphis, Tennessee.  

Terry joined the Army 101st Airborne Division and served on active duty in Vietnam during the war 1970 and served three years.  He was honorably discharged as a Private, First-Class.  He worked various jobs, such as the National Trust Life insurance company in Memphis, Tennessee, and ITT Technical Institute in Houston, Texas. He was the University Director of Admissions for the National Education Center in Dallas, Texas (1986-1988), which offered career-oriented diploma, Associate, and bachelor's degree programs in advertising design, architectural design, health care, business, criminal justice, transportation technology, construction trades, and information technology.  He was also an entrepreneur of various enterprises such as a butchery retail store in Memphis, TN, a food distributing company in Tennessee and Arkansas, and a credit counseling service in Houston during the early 1990s that rescued people from financial difficulty.  

Terry is survived by his ex-wife, Mary Michele Harris-Hall; brother, Larry Clemmer; sister-in-law Pat Clemmer; son, Jerry Clemmer; daughter-in-law, Deleker Clemmer; daughters, Maria Clemmer-Court and Marla Clemmer, grand-daughters Madison Goodwin, Kameron, Kacee Court, Hannah Clemmer, Makayla Clemmer, and Camiel Clemmer; grandson, Kyle Peterson, Jr., great-grandsons, Kemari Hearvey, James Court; great-granddaughter, Saniya Hearvey  His parents preceded him, his father, Terry Lee Clemmer, Sr., and his mother, Nina Clemmer.  His family and friends miss him greatly.

He enjoyed studying military history, music, movies (especially war movies), and family holiday celebrations. He loved sharing time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and playing board games like chess. Terry always knew how to make anything fun, fast with his joking one-liners, and knew how to put a smile on everyone’s face.

Services are scheduled to take place at Beresford Funeral Service on Friday, August 5, 2022 with the Visitation beginning at 10am and the Memorial Service beginning at 11am.  Inurnment will follow at Houston National Cemetery at 1:15pm.
