Ada Sue Koym “Sue”, 89, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2022, in Missouri City, Texas. She was born on August 24, 1932, in Crockett, Texas to Emery Lee Beal and Mary Etta (Nunn) Beal.
The Beal family moved to Houston in 1945 where Sue was able to pursue her love and talent for dance at Hallie Pritchard School of Dance. She was a student and teacher at the school and travelled to Los Angeles to learn from and dance with the musical stars of the day, something she fondly recalled. Sue married James Reese Youngblood, Jr. in 1956 and they had one child, Debra Sue. A wonderful homemaker, she still managed to open two dance studios in Seabrook and Texas City and have a successful sales career. She eventually returned to Seabrook to be near her grandchildren and worked in another creative profession she loved, interior design. Sue was a founding member of Living Word Church of the Bay Area.
She was gregarious, generous to a fault, and she loved her family. Food was her love language, and she was widely known for her southern cooking. Laughing often and always on the move, she will be sorely missed but held close and remembered with joy.
Sue is survived by her daughter, Debra Sue Sloan (John), her grandchildren Bailey Owen Sloan and Emmy Sue Sloan as well as beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings James Beal and Melrose Doyal.
The family has elected to honor her in a private graveside service followed by a Celebration of Life in April to be held on the grounds of Living Word Church of the Bay Area.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be sent to Living Word Church of the Bay Area, 2710 Red Bluff Rd., Seabrook, TX 77586 or electronically at lwcba.org
