-

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; Psalm 23:4.

Bette “Brownie” Bretz Chase passed away Saturday March 1, 2008 after an extensive illness. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Gene Chase, two daughters, Sandra Chase and Janet O’Leary, son in law, James O’Leary, two grandchildren, James O’Leary, Jr and wife Jennifer and Jennifer Tolbert and husband, Dusty and 3 beautiful great grandchildren; Peyton O’Leary and Kyler and Chandley Tolbert. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester Paul and Lucille Bretz and her brother, Ronald Paul Bretz.

“Brownie” (as she was known by friends and family) was born April 15, 1930 in Raymondville, Texas. She married Gene in September, 1950 and moved to Houston in 1958. Brownie devoted her life to her family and spent many years volunteering in the HISD school system and in her church. I was sorry to read about your loved ones passing.

I hope during this most difficult time that you can have hope in the words of Jesus when he said, ...."the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out...." John 5:28

Having faith in Jesus' words provides comfort and helps us to look to him and his Father for their direction in our life now and the wonderful resurrection hope that we will see in the near future.

May your prayers be heard as you continue to turn to our Heavenly Father and His instruction through His word the bible where it is written: "All things that were written aforetime were written for our instruction, that through our endurance, and through the COMFORT from the scriptures, we might have hope." Romans 15:4

Sincerely,

Kay Lin
