Jane Mary (Kelleher) Ingversen, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026, with her loving husband, Gert, by her side.
Born on May 1, 1946, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Jane was the daughter of the late Edmund and Kathleen (May) Kelleher of the Lordship section of Stratford, Connecticut. She was a proud 1964 graduate of Stratford High School and went on to attend St. Vincent’s School of Nursing.
Soon after completing her education, Jane married and moved to San Diego, California, where she raised her beloved twin sons, John and Stephen. She played an integral role in managing the office of her former husband’s ophthalmology practice while dedicating herself wholeheartedly to her family.
Jane will be remembered for her generous spirit and her dedication to charitable causes. She was deeply involved in fundraising efforts supporting the Children’s Hospital Burn Center and the San Diego Zoo. Her compassion and commitment to helping others left a lasting impact.
She had a lifelong passion for art, culture, and travel—interests she lovingly shared with her sons. Her appreciation for fine art was beautifully reflected in her home.
One of Jane’s favorite Houston events was the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. It is the largest Rodeo in the world. The rodeo is run by over 35,000 volunteers and welcomes over 2 million visitors during its annual 3 week run. Jane and her dear friends Kenna and Traci were on the Ticket Services Committee. They would sell tickets onsite to the public. Jane loved the Rodeo and western culture and really enjoyed engaging with all of the people who walked through the gates.
Jane and Gert also shared a love of gardening, creating stunning gardens that brought joy to neighbors and friends alike.
Jane and Gert were married in San Diego in 1995. They moved to Gert’s home in the Hyde Park section of Houston, where they lived until 2025. Together, they were admired by neighbors and friends as a true love story—a fairy-tale couple whose devotion to one another was evident to all.
Jane was a beautiful woman with an impeccable sense of style and a wonderful sense of humor.
Galveston was among Jane’s favorite weekend getaways. She had a special talent for discovering the best restaurants and finding unique Christmas ornaments, which she lovingly sent to her sons each year.
In addition to her devoted husband, Gert, Jane is survived by her sons, Steven (Jen) and John (Shari), Penteli-Molnar; her stepdaughter, Alizia, and her husband, John Castille, of Houston, Texas; her grandchildren, Brian and Megan Penteli-Molnar and David Castille; and her great-grandsons, Eli and Asher.
She is also survived by her siblings and in-laws: the late Edmund Kelleher Jr. and his wife, Maureen Hughes Kelleher, of Millis, Massachusetts; Timothy Kelleher and his wife, Karen, of Narragansett, Rhode Island; Elaine Randazzo and her husband, Joe, Sheila Smith, the late Christopher Kelleher and his wife, Susan, Lynne Shipchack and her husband, Joe and Shaun Kelleher and his wife, Melody, all of Milford, Connecticut. Kathleen Martorano and her husband, Anthony, of Derby, Connecticut. She also leaves behind 18 nieces and nephews, 21 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Jane was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of her life will be held on June 20, 2026 in Milford, Connecticut.
