Kim was born March 25, 1953 to Terry Eugene and Ruby Lee Dillard Van Landing ham. Although only married for less than four years at age of 18 to Suwanna Sarakual, he gave 2 years and 2 months. to our country in Thailand, and 7 years and 11 months as a Missile Maintenance Tech with the United States Air Force stationed in Thailand and Arizona following that with 1 year and 2 months of serving our country as a computer operator. Those planes are remotely piloted vehicles which differed from guided missiles in that they return safely from a mission to once again train fighter pilots to shoot. After Kim’s disability retirement from Air Force and Civil Service his love for the Air Force and his devotion to his buddies in 2007-2008 he designed a website where soldiers of that era, ones from 100th AMMS could stay in contact and share their lives with each other. In 2003 Kim shared his talents by creating his first website Lit'l Bit of Heaven Schnauzer Farm for his sister Patsi Whatley’s Schnauzer business. Kim served as a civil servant as a computer operator at Air Force bases in Alabama and his career with Stewart & Stevenson and Covenant House here in Houston.

I was shocked and sadden to hear about Kim. He was a dear sweet cousin that shared in some good times and sad times in my life. I remember him as a kid following me and Patsi around; needless-to-say, Patsi and I tried to discourage him...it didn't work! I remember sitting with him at Aunt Bernice's house after we buried Uncle Randall. He was a real comfort. Most of all, I remember his smile. I pray that he found peace and is on the other side with our loved ones that have passed on. Kim was loved and cherished by me. My heart is heavy with saddeness. I will miss you and hope to see you again one day on the other side.

Patsi, we are so sorry to hear about the loss of your brother. We feel so badly for your loss. You always talked about your love for your brother, and you were so proud of the work he did on the website. We also felt he was a big part in our finding you and your wonderful schnauzer babies. We will be thinking about you during these times you will be sad. I am sure he is now playing with our two lost schnauzers, Heidi and Muffin. We know we will see all of them when we get to heaven. Take care of yourself. We love and miss you.

Patsi - We were saddened and sorry to hear of the loss of your brother, Kim. Although we had never met him we were connected to him through you and through your website. His work brought your love of schnauzers to all of us. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Sending you a big hug and many puppy kisses from our home to yours.

Kim, I will truly miss our long conversations and especially your calls just to see how I was doing. You placed your concerns for others ahead of your own problems and most of all showed that you were truly a caring and loving person.

I am proud to say you were my friend and that we served our Country together: "With Distinction and Honor"

Rest in peace dear friend. I know there is no more pain/suffering and that you are in good hands with the Lord.

Your friend

I cannot believe Kim is gone. I will miss him (I miss you) a lot. I remember him torturing me (as I did him) when I was growing up - like only an uncle can. He used to chase me around the farm and yell at me for messing something up he was working on, building or tinkering with. I always managed to get right in the middle of anything and everything he was doing. That being said, Kim was my biggest influence in joining the military and Air Force specifically. We always had that in common. God Bless Kim Alan VanLandingham. He will be missed.
