Malenda Evelyn Allen completed her earthly journey on Friday, August 21, 2020 at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital at the age of 84. After leaving the military, Malenda worked at various hospitals, including Saint Margaret's Hospital in Hammond, Indiana. In June, 1986, Malenda and her younger son, Kevin moved to Houston; later, her son Keith and daughter Deborah joined them.

She worked as a Respiratory Technician at St. Luke's Episcopal and Ben Taub Hospitals. She enjoyed traveling, reading, gardening and cooking. She loved talking about her travels and cruises, especially her trips to the Bahamas; she also loved teaching her granddaughters how to cook and sew. My favorite aunt. Who taught me so much about life. She bought her children the best toys. She was the best cook I've ever seen. I will miss the peppersteak and stringbeans. And a great homemaker, I saw her once ironing curtains! Her house was so clean it always smelled like soap! Iam blessed to have known you.
