Norman Edward Cantrell, 86, passed away on February 24, 2023 in Brookshire, Texas. He was born on June 23, 1936 in Dallas, Texas to Voll N. Cantrell and Morene (Tawater) Cantrell.
He is a retired Gunnery Sergeant who faithfully served the United States Marine Corps for 20 years. Norm accepted Christ at an early age and loved the Lord. He will be missed. He was a creative writer and sometimes artist.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 41 years, Delores "Doe" Cantrell; sons, Evan Cantrell & wife Missy from Schulenberg, Norman Cantrell & wife Channon, children Laird and Jeremy, from Spring Branch, and Jeff Gifford & wife Yvette, from New Ulm; grandchildren, Brandon Gifford, College Station and Cameron Gifford, wife Kiara, daughter, Gnarly, San Diego, CA; Evan Cantrell Jr. & wife Claire; great-grandchildren, EJ, Cole, Tripp, Jett, from La Grange, TX; Brother, Jim Cantrell, from Axtell, several nieces and nephews, Sister, Doris Fletcher, from Lee’s Summit, MO
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 6, 2023 at the Westland Baptist Church (1407 W Grand Parkway S, Katy, TX 77494). Burial will follow at Houston National Cemetery (10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77038) at 1:15 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Westland Baptist Church in Katy, noted for “Youth Department”.
