In Memory of
Phi Hung Vo
-

Phi Hung Vo, of Houston, Texas, passed away at the age of 69 after a courageous fight against COVID-19 on 3/8/2021 in Houston.   He was born in August of 1951 in Rach Gia, Vietnam to An Toan Vo and Hue Thi Nguyen.

Phi graduated from Ho Ngoc Can in Gia Dinh, Vietnam and then joined the Vietnamese Naval Academy and attended school in San Francisco and San Diego. After the Vietnam War he met the love of his life, Giang Vo. They were married on May 29, 1976 in Tallahassee, Florida. From Florida, the newlywed couple moved to New Orleans, Louisiana, where he found miscellaneous work. He worked there for almost 2 years. In 1983, they moved to Houston, Texas with family where he would later work as a METRO employee. He enjoyed helping and assisting his family and friends, gardening, fixing things, and swimming at the gym after dinner. But most of all, he loved his family, and was a great provider, mentor, and companion.

Phi is survived by his loving wife, Giang Vo; their 3 children, Lisa Vo & husband Vic Yarangsy, Don Vo & partner Tomas Gill, Dianna Credo & husband John Credo and grandson Jacob Credo. He also had 8 brothers and sisters: Bac Hai Anh, Bac Ba Dung, Co Thu Van, Chu Sau Hung, Co Bay Tuyet, Co Tam Hoa, Chu Chin Tai, Co Muoi Loan. 2 Grandchildren: Jacob Credo, and soon to be Madison Yarangsy.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be held at a private ceremony in the Chapel of Beresford Funeral Service. Visitation will be family only. Burial will follow at Carmen, Nelson Bostick Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in his name to be made to the charity of your choice.

The family would like to especially thank the caregivers who looked after dad in the final months, and to all of our family & friends who have been so supportive and helpful.
