Reflections from Kim Branson

Rosemary Branson- Born October 27, 1929
First day in Heaven- June 4, 2009

There are not adequate enough words to describe my mom. She always had a sparkle in her eyes, a warm smile, and a hug for anyone that entered her house, and a plate of food to make sure no one left her house hungry.

My mother loved my dad with a depth of love I have never seen any one else on this earth have. She always talked about him with great love and respect. Mom was extremely proud of my brother, Chris, and loved his wife, Janis like she was her own daughter.

Mom was always so proud of her grandchildren and she always spoke of them lovingly. She had a special bond with Kirsten. She was so proud of David and Daniel. She always enjoyed hearing what funny thing Heather, the family comedian, had to say.

For my self as her daughter, Mom never once hesitated to give me her opinion, but she also never hesitated to give me a kiss, a smile, and a hug. She will always be the best friend I ever had.

If I had to choose one memory, it is when I was eight years old. My mom was on the phone talking with a friend about Jesus. When she got off of the phone, I asked, ”Can just big people be saved?” She smiled and prayed with me as I knelt beside her and asked Jesus to forgive me of my sins and I accepted Jesus as my savior. She taught me throughout my life the meaning of the scripture “Love the Lord your God with all of your heart, all of your soul, and all of your mind, and love your neighbor as yourself.”

I had two requests in my prayers at the end of Mom’s life. I asked God to please let her go gently in her sleep, and please let me be with her when she passed on.God was so good to answer my prayers and allow me the privilege of holding her hand until she drifted into sleep and breather her last breath.
The night before, I was by her side the last time she was able to speak clearly. She looked up and said,”Thank you, Lord Jesus, for my beautiful family. I love them so much. Love, love, love, love. The next few hours were extremely difficult, but even during the last hour of her life, her mind was still very sharp. I would say, ”You’r e still in there, aren’t you Mom. ”She would try to nod “Yes” .She would also try to whisper, ”I love you.”

If Mom could speak here today, I know she would want you to remember her with love, smiles, and laughter. She would want you to remember that the things of this world don’t matter. As she taught me, the only thing that matters is that you accept Jesus Christ as your savior. Live your life serving Him by loving others.

So, thank you, Jesus, for my precious Mom. What a privilege it has been to know her.

I remember the Choir trips from First Baptist Houston with Rosemary and Bob.
Rosemary was always a lady on the trips, at church and any time I saw her. I will miss her.

Every time I encountered Rosemary she reflected a presence of peace and confidence. She was strong in her faith, loved her family, and concerned for others. Their smiles alone showed that Bob and Rosemary were very happy together.

I will always remember Rosemary for the wonderful lady she was - faithful, loving and full of God's peace. She created a wonderful home atmosphere, and I remember sitting at her kitchen table doing homework while she was busy making a delicious dinner, never too busy to answer a math question. It was always a delight to be in the home of Bob and Rosemary, because their love for each other was evident. To my long time friends Kim and Chris, my sincere condolences go out to you for the loss of your beloved mother, and my prayers are with you and your dad.

Rosemary was such a precious, sweet lady and had great faith. She had such love and care for everyone she knew and was so proud of her family. The last time I saw Rosemary, she was so upbeat and felt she was doing good at that time with her struggle with cancer. It seems God wanted her home with Him and PTL she is no longer suffering. My prayers are surely with Bob, Kim, Chris and their families in the great loss they feel, but God is sufficient and will be right by your side. Love to each of you.

One of the very best things about the trip to Charleston and Savannah was meeting Bob and Rosemary. We enjoyed them so much. Rosemary was such a sweet and refined lady and you could just see how happy they were with each other.
Please know that Rosemary will be remembered in our prayers.

I am sorry to read of your loss. Many have experienced the death of a loved one. In God's word the Bible, it speaks of a resurrection on earth at John 5:28,29-Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.
