In Memory of
Ruth Maxwell Dadson
-

Ruth Dadson, the 7th of 8 siblings, was born on May 31st, 1959 in Akim Oda, Ghana to Henry Archibald Maxwell and Madam Grace Forson (preceded by both in memory). She gently passed in the early morning hours of March 1st, 2021 after a period of illness. She is survived by her two children Juliet Dadson and John Dadson. A Son-in law Daniel Andoh, and a grandson Treasure Kwabena Andoh.

Ruth started her primary education at Tarkwa Urban Council and Methodist school in Winneba. Subsequently to middle school at Gomoa Enyeme, and secondary education at Breman Asikuma. The moving around to different areas was due to her father’s work and transfers. After graduation in 1981, she enrolled in the Roman Catholic Nursing Training school in Apam. She went on to work at the Breman Asikuma Catholic Hospital after her Nursing completion. While at the hospital she was introduced to Mr. Robert Dadson whom she later married and joined him in the US. She settled with her family in the Richmond, Texas area.

Aunty Maanan as she was affectionately called was a devout Christian and a member of the Methodist Church. She joined the congregation of the Catholic Church of Breman Asikuma where she worked until her move to the United States. Ruth loved the Lord and was always prepared to contribute towards the service and things of the Lord.

Aunty Maanan was known in the neighborhood and social circles as a jovial person who always found an opportunity to make people laugh. There was no time for sadness in Ruth Maanan’s life when she is around. She was caring, loving and hardworking, just graced with humility, yet will fight for what she believed in.
Ruth had a green thumb that could be seen in the many plants she natured and planted in her garden at her backyard. She grew corn, squash, pepper you just name it. That is where she spent her quiet times. Even when she took ill, still made time to plant, always sharing the fruits of her garden. She is a very warm person to know, never a dull moment, full of joy and laughter. One can see the strength and fortitude of this beautiful woman during her last days. Rest in Peace Ruth.
