I've been struggling with exactly what to say here...but the words that keep coming to mind for Grandma in honoring and paying tribute to her life are RESILIENT & STRENGTH.
She was RESILIENT to say the least, as she experienced so much trauma in her life...but she seemed to always be able to pull out the joyful moments too. Even in the chaos, she stood firm. It's incredible to me everything that she lived through and survived. Truly. She is the branch that I believe started the resilient, fighters of the Willey/Wynn/Nguyen clan of women.
My own relationship with her had its complications to be sure, but dang. This woman also had STRENGTH. And it brings me peace knowing that it was ultimately in fact strength in the Lord. Not always played out or showed in its entirety...but she ended her life with, "I love you." After the life she's endured, enjoyed, and experienced...love & peace prevailed.
I spent a large portion of my life concerned with whether or not Grandma was saved and was going to be able to rest eternally with God once she passed...the last couple of years, combined with her last few days here, truly confirmed in my heart that she is in a place where there are no more tears and no more pain. She's in a place where the laugh that I imagine her having in her younger days can ring out again in full force. That brings me a lot of peace and joy.
I love you, Grandma. I hope you're making the chandeliers shake up there with the angels. <3
