Alex Ringor, cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home with his wife, Isabel, by his side on November 15, 2024, at the age of 77. Alex was born in the Philippines on October 16, 1947 to Maximo Ringor and Maria Concepcion (Somera) Ringor. His life was a testament to love, devotion, and the power of family.
Alex is survived by his beloved wife, Isabel; his children, Lily and her son Nikhil, Alex Mario Jr., Michael and wife Abigail and their children Eric and wife Rebecca, Lauren, Michael and wife Ericka, Anthony and Stephanie; and Edward and his son Justin. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Ian and Asher sons of Eric and Rebecca and Scarlet daughter of Anthony. Alex is also survived by his sister Evangeline Centeno and brother Rizal Ringor.
In November of 1968, Alex proudly enlisted in the U.S. Navy, eager to serve his country. Although medical issues during his first year of service prevented him from continuing his naval career, this chapter of his life set the stage for a new journey. Just a few years later, on November 13, 1972, Alex married the love of his life, Isabel, beginning a lifelong partnership rooted in love, devotion,
and faith. Determined to build a meaningful career, Alex pursued his education and became a Digital Electronics Technician, graduating from the DeVry Institute of Technology on February 24, 1989. The following year, in 1990, Alex and his family moved to California, where they embraced new opportunities.
Alex's spiritual journey was a profound transformation, marked by his deepening commitment to God. In 1995, he asked Jesus Christ to be the Lord of his life, beginning his journey of salvation. He first attended Valley Community Church in El Monte, California, where he was baptized and learned what it meant live as a man of God. His spiritual growth continued at The Rock in Anaheim, California, where he discovered the meaning of discipleship and what it means to follow Jesus. Finally, after moving to Katy, Texas, Alex became a devoted member of Life Church, where he learned the importance of fellowship and community. Through each of these experiences, Alex’s faith grew stronger, shaping him into the devoted man of God he was. Alex found great joy in serving the Lord by volunteering his time. Whether it was cleaning the church, grilling and cooking or assisting wherever needed, he poured his heart into ensuring that the house of God was always well cared for.
His hobbies included gun collecting and target shooting, visiting thrift stores and swap meets with his wife and friends and watching reality TV shows such as Storage Wars and American Pickers.
His humor, strength, and loving spirit will be remembered by all who knew him.
Alex lived a life that left a lasting legacy of faith in God and deep love for his family. He modeled a steadfast commitment to his faith, teaching his children and grandchildren the importance of serving the Lord and cherishing one another.
Family and friends are invited to honor Alex’s life. Services will be held at Life Church Katy (26189 Westheimer Pkwy, Katy, TX 77494). Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Monday, November 25, 2024. The funeral will be on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at 10:30 am. Burial will follow at Houston National Cemetery at 1:45 pm.
Though Alex has departed this world, his legacy of love, laughter, and devotion to God will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.
