Anna B. Ghavidel (Astafiev) passed away Wed. Feb. 6th 2008 in Houston, TX. She was born April 12th 1912 in the city of Moscow, Russia. She is preceded in death by her husband Ali-Akbar Babazadeh Ghavidel, as well as her parents Sergey Astafiev and Natalia Piplova. Her family members include sons: Sattar (spouse Shamsi), Ali (deceased), Behrouz (spouse Shahreh), Yousef (deceased), and Siamak (spouse Kelly); daughters: Tahareh (spouse Mohammad, both deceased), Assieh (spouse Kamal, deceased), Rosa (spouse Nasser, deceased), Sadie (spouse Khosrow), and Mehri (spouse Javad); grandchildren: Homa (Jafar), Ali (Soheila), Hossein (Sara), Hassan (Eftekhar), Roya (Jalal), Haydeh (Houshang), Kamran, Mehran (Ella), Amir (Vida), Iraj (Farahnaz), Azar (Majid), Maziar, Touraj, Arash, Anna, Pegah, Armin, Kaveh, Abtean, Dona, Collin; great-grandchildren: Nima (Maryam), Sara, Neda, Hamed, Sajad, Nasim, Taha, Sobhan, Ehsan, Mohammed, Shahin, Amin, Farshad, Ali, Mohammad, Eillarose, Danial, Maya, and Neshat. Visitation will be held at River Oaks Baptist Church on Saturday, February 16, 2008 beginning at 11:45 am, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 pm. Burial will immediately follow at Glenwood Cemetery.
