ANNIE Marie Small, age 86, passed away on Friday, September 26, 2014, in Houston. She was the daughter of Paul Bond and Anna Louise Miettinen, born on August 5, 1928 in Houston.
She attended Aldine High School and graduated from Sam Houston High School in Houston. She worked as a telephone operator and office worker at Southwest Bell Telephone Company and as a clerical worker and stenographer at Gulf Oil Company.
She married Robert Earl Small, on May 24, 1952 in Houston. He was a World War II veteran, a graduate of the University of Houston, and had a long career as a petroleum engineer. Annie Marie was a member of The Memorial Church of Christ in Houston.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, who died May 8, 1995, after almost 43 years of marriage. She was also preceded by their son, Gary W. Small, who died in 2012.
Survivors include: one son: Scott Wayne Small of Houston; one sister: Pauline Ruth Cramer and husband, John, Jr. of Seattle, Washington; sisters-in-laws: Mary Nell Bollman and Beth Ann Hughes and husband T. C.; Grandchildren: Michael Small, Crystal Ann McQueen and Stephen Earl Small of Houston, Great Grandchildren: Raven and Colton McQueen; also: nieces: Kathryn Cramer Hartwell and husband David of New York, Karen Cramer Shea and husband Tom of Washington D. C., and nephew: John G. Cramer III of Seattle.
The family appreciates the kind and loving care by VITAS Hospice. She will be greatly missed by all those who loved her and whose lives she touched.
