Aram Ohaness Vartanian passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at his home in Sugar Land, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Baghad, Iraq to Ohaness Vartanian and Sirvart (Matigian) Vartanian and was the eldest of his sister, Sonia (Vartanian) Topdjian.
After completing his high school education from Baghdad College (founded by American Jesuits from Boston), Aram pursued his dream and moved to Beaumont, Texas where he attended Lamar University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Structural Engineering in 1968. He devoted 48 years of his career to the offshore and petrochemical industries, passionately dedicating himself to these fields. A few years following his college graduation, he met the love of his life, with whom he later married. He took immense pride in being an Armenian Texan and was a religious man whose devout beliefs guided and shaped his everyday actions and interactions, reflecting a profound commitment to his faith throughout his whole life.
His children and grandchildren held an extraordinary place in his heart, and he found utmost joy when surrounded by them. Aram was cherished by all who knew him for his inherent kindness, love, and remarkable sense of humor, leaving a lasting impact on those whose paths he crossed.
