In Memory of
Caridad Ramirez
-

Norma Caridad Ramirez was born on December 24, 1934 in Villa Union, Coahuila, Mexico.  She passed away peacefully on January 18, 2020 at the age of 85 years old.

She spent most of her early years in Monterrey, Mexico, before moving to the Houston area more than 20 years ago.

Caridad is preceded in death by her parents, Idelfonso and Francisca (Panchita), brothers Alfonso (Poncho), Enrique and her sister Esthela.

She is survived by her brother Carlos, by her daughters Norma Melida and Mayra Maricela; her sons Mario Antonio (Tony), Edgar Rene and Alex Alan; and eight grandchildren, Mayra Maricela (Shelly), Montserrat (Montse) Gisselle, Monica Lizeth, Mario Enrique, Alan Jose Antonio, Jessica, Sheryl and Cinthia.

She was very cheerful, and loved to dance to Mickey Lauren and cha cha songs.  She enjoyed listening to music like Mexican Trio and Los Panchos, and loved to travel, especially to the beach and motorcycle road trips.

She liked to spend time with her cousins and friends, and to socialize with people to help Mexican political party (PRI) campaigns.

She enjoyed cooking, baking cakes, empanadas, flour tortillas, sewing, knitting, and handicraft.

Her favorite expressions were “Tejo como una araña”, “A fuerza ni los zapatos”, “Que hagan de su vida un reguilete” and “Si quieres bien y sino también”.

Her favorite food was McDonald’s chicken nuggets, fritada de cabrito, avocado and shrimp. One of her favorite desserts was chocolate ice cream. Her favorite words to describe food was “RI-QUI-SI-MO”.

She also very much loved her dogs, Doggy, Rosty, Toy and Nickle.

She spent her last days with her daughter Mayra, and sons Edgar and Tony,  granddaughters Shelly and Montse and Shelly's husband Jonathan Fernandez. During this time she remained very sharp, often making jokes that made the gathering feel more like a family party.

"Thank you for giving us cheerful moments during your last days.  You will be greatly missed!"
