DON EARL SPROUL, age 91, a resident of Houston, Texas for 51 years, went on to be with the Lord on May 2nd. He was born in Lima, Ohio to Ross Dawson Sproul and Norma Widau Sproul on October 5, 1918. Mr. Sproul is preceded in death by his wife, Jennie Ritchey Davis Sproul and his granddaughter, Ellen Yvonne Zamora. He is survived by his daughter, Virginia Crump; his three sons, Warren Sproul, David Sproul and Jeffrey Sproul; eight grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Mr. Sproul has been a member of Memorial Drive United Methodist Church since 1968. He received both his undergraduate and law degrees from The University of Cincinnati, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, and then served six years as a special agent in the FBI before returning to his home town of Dayton, Ohio to practice law. His service in the FBI was a very special time to him. He moved to Houston in 1958 and worked in the trust department of Houston Bank & Trust Co. and then Houston National Bank, retiring in 1977 as a Vice President in Houston National Bank's trust department.In jest, his wife's parents gave him the name "Pop" when he was a young father in his twenties. The name stuck. Pop will be greatly missed by his children and his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM on Saturday, May 8th in the Green Room of the Treemont retirement center, 2501 Westerland Drive, Houston, Texas 77063, telephone 713-783-6820.
