 
 
Harvey F. Hill, Jr. died Sunday, August 5, 2012 at the age of 86. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 65 years, Joanne Campbell Hill, his daughter Karen Hill Freeman, husband Pat Freeman of Conway, Arkansas and his daughter, Anne Campbell Hill, of Houston. He is predeceased by his daughter, Laurie Elizabeth Hill and is survived by her daughter Chrystal Jilek, husband Stephen, and children Toni and Joshua. He is also survived by his three grandsons, Michael, Mark and David Freeman, David’s wife Kristin and their son Iain.
Harvey was born November 11, 1925 in New Iberia, Louisiana and moved to Houston in 1928. He attended St. Thomas High School and after serving three years in the U.S. Navy during WWII, he attended the University of Texas earning BBA and BSME degrees. He was a professional engineer, a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and Pi Tau Sigma National Honorary Mechanical Engineering Fraternity. His career as a professional engineer included 14 years with Brown and Root’s Foreign Marine Group working on offshore construction projects around the world. He retired in 1989.
A memorial service will be held at St. John Vianney Church, 625 Nottingham Trail at 10:30AM, Tuesday August 14, 2012. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice.
