Granny, I am so sorry! Daddy Jack was such a delightful man. I loved his stories and his kindness and his zest for life. He never complained about whatever we put on the table for him to eat (even that awful pre-packaged Thanksgiving dinner he found something nice to say and made us all laugh). I have remembered so many wonderful things today about our times together. I'm sure that he and Daddy are talking about turkeys or deer right now. I can see them both in my heart, sitting on the back porch, Daddy Jack with a Coke in his hand, talking.

You are so very dear to me. I love you. Please know you are in my prayers.

Papa was always so much fun even though we didnt get to see him that much. He always would give me a diet coke when I use to viset him. We took him to a Mexican restrant, and ate there. I loved him so much. I'll miss so much.

Jack and Lucille's trips to Portland have been few and far-between, but I love you both dearly. In the 80's, Jack and I laughed over the single-serving size cans of Coke. He told me fishing tales. Jack and Lucille spent 6 weeks in Portland helping Mom during her final months on this earth. During that time, Jack demonstrated such character, love and tenderness as I have rarely seen in a man. I can still hear his laugh and hear him call me, "Darlin'." I'm sure that when I go through that tunnel to the Other Side, Jack will be there with a Coke in his hand, welcoming me home.
