
Joyce Ann Scott Eden went to be with the Lord on January 20, 2015 at 76 years of age at her home in Houston, Texas. Joyce is the daughter of the late John Allen Scott and Ella May Baker Scott, who both passed away in 1994. Joyce was born April 19, 1938 in Comanche, Texas. She attended public school for 9 years, then attended Texas School for the Blind where she graduated in 1956. She was passionate a bout helping disabled children, which led her to be a part of the Lions Club
She is survived by her significant other, Bryan J. Shipman and 5 children: Barney Lee Norton (Sheila), Ella Jeannene Eden Murphy (Max), Linda Darlene Eden McCauley (John), Charles Joseph Eden (Ana) and Clay Patrick Eden, Sr. (Evelyn). She has 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Joyce is survived by her sister, Virgina May Ward of Lubbock, Texas and her brother, Joseph Allen Scott of Kennewick, Washington.
Joyce has been a member of Bethel Baptist Church for 40 years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made towards Cancer or Diabetes research.
Viewing will be Friday, January 23, 2015 from 7-9:00pm at Bethel Baptist Church. Funeral services will be on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 1pm at Bethel Baptist Church located at 25 Tidwell Rd. in Houston, Texas. There will be no grave side services.

of Blind and Crippled Children in Kerrville, Texas where she spent her summer, 1956. She then became Home Teacher for the Blind in 1957. She met Hardy Charles Eden, Jr. and they married September 14,1957. They made a life together until his passing on May 5, 2000.
She is survived by her significant other, Bryan J.
