In Memory of
Linda Kay Boyett
-

Linda Kay (Ivicic) Boyett, age 82, of Houston, Texas, died peacefully at home on October 25, 2023. She was born in Holland, Texas on November 20, 1940, to Rudolph and Alma Gommert Ivicic as the third of six children. Linda graduated from Holland High School and then attended cosmetology school in Waco, Texas. She met the love of her life, Doyce Olen Boyett in 1959.

Our father found an extraordinary, priceless woman and an excellent wife in Linda Kay Ivicic. They were married on January 16,1960 in Holland, Texas. Linda proved to be fiercely loyal to her husband and to her family. Doyce entrusted his heart and his life to this wonderful woman, and she honored his love with the utmost dedication to him and complete devotion to God.

Linda was determined to build her family on a Biblical foundation, and she never wavered. She encouraged her children’s spiritual growth through the Word and Christian relationships. She taught her children to develop a respectable sense of morals and an exceptional work ethic. Linda was a loving and caring grandmother (Nanny) who was determined to encourage her grandchildren’s interests by attending every single event they participated in. Linda’s number one priority on Earth was to love and protect her family.

Linda’s family was very proud of her fantastic creative side which she exhibited in a variety of ways. She started early as a hair stylist. In later years she developed an interest in cake decorating which led her into catering weddings. From the weddings, she developed a passion for floral arrangements. She also passed on this creativity to her daughter Regina. Linda’s cooking was admired as some of the most savory and delicious meals ever prepared. She loved beautiful things and loved to create beautiful things.

Linda had numerous friendships she developed at Sugar Grove and First Colony churches. Linda spent countless hours serving and worshiping with them. She also enjoyed many domino games and cruises with her First Family group. Her face would just light up the whole room when they came to visit. She loved and valued her Christian friends.

Linda was an exceptional woman, wife, mother, Nanny and friend.   We are so delighted she is in heaven rejoicing with her family and friends. There are no words in any language in this world which can adequately describe the beauty and majesty of God and heaven. Our mother is being saturated with love and beauty at this moment and we thank our amazing Lord Jesus for his gift.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband Doyce, her parents and her siblings, Rudolph “Buddy” Ivicic, Marie Michalka, Richard Ivicic, Carolyn Coker, and David Ivicic.

She is survived by her daughter Ranessa Machann and son-in-law Steve; daughter Regina Cook and son-in-law Michael; son Gary Boyett and daughter-in-law Susan. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Emily Maus and husband Cody; Charles Machann and wife Caitlyn; Paige Bucher and husband Seth; Sarah Machann and fiancé Alex Boiwka; Jake Boyett; and great grandchildren Mila and Maxen Machann; Hudson and Hayden Bucher; Madison Maus.
