Richard Hal Wesley

Richard Hal Wesley, 92, passed away on August 23, 2010. He was born on July 1, 1918 in Detroit, Michigan. He attended Wayne State University and went on to earn a PhD in geophysics from Washington University in St. Louis. He moved to Fort Worth, Texas and then to Houston in 1968. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hal and Annette Wesley. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Christine Wesley; children Richard Hal Wesley II and his wife Maria, and Phyllis Wesley; grandchildren, Denise and Mary Helen Wesley, Richard Hal Wesley III, James Lowe, and Donald Godwin; great-grandchildren Avery Craig-Lowe, Kalua Benrevi, and Madilynn Wesley; and his beloved pekingese Taz. He was an avid reader of scientific books, an inventor, and he held many patents. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was passionate about many things. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and numerous other organizations. He will be missed. Special thanks to Dr. Paul Bing and the staff at Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital for the support and the compassionate care the patient and family received. A short visitation will be held at Beresford Funeral Home at 11:00 on Thursday, August 26th. It will be followed by a service at 11:30. The family will have a private, graveside service at a later time.
