Rijina Sher

Rijina Sher, 78, passed away on August 20, 2025 at her home in Houston, Texas. She was born on July 1, 1947 in Erbil, Iraq to Yousif Sher and Wards Toma.

She is survived by her son, Nasim Ishak (Heba Yousif); her daughters, Niveen Issaq (Eirik Lima) and Nina Issaq Irwin (Jonathan Irwin); grandchildren, Aron Ishak, Andre Ishak, Johannes Irwin, and Noah Irwin; and her siblings, Jamil Sher, Hikmat Sher, Golzar Sher, Azadi Sher, and Galawez Sher.

She is preceded by her husband (in 2023), Yaqoub Issaq; and her parents.

Funeral Services will be held at Our Lady of the Cedars Maronite Catholic Church (11935 Bellfort Village Dr., Houston, TX 77031) on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, the Rosary at 10:30 am, and Mass will begin at 11:00 am. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery (12800 Westheimer Rd., Houston, TX 77077).
