Sjon was attending Brigham Young University - Idaho at the time of his passing, where Sjon and Hannah were living in Rexbury, ID. Prior to moving to Idaho, Sjon and Hannah had lived in Sugar Land and Richmond, TX.

Sjon was a marvelous husband who exemplified the phrase of "living one's life to the fullest." His interests included spending time in the outdoors, camping, hiking, photography, videography, long boarding, and snowboarding with his wife and friends. Sjon was very outgoing and loved interacting with his siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. He loved watching sunsets, playing piano and guitar by ear, and writing poems.

Sjon was highly involved in his church where he served a two-year church mission in the Washington D.C. South mission. Sjon and Hannah were married in the Houston Texas LDS Temple on December 20, 2012 where they were sealed for time and all eternity. He recently was serving with his wife as a Sunday school teacher teaching a class focused on Marriage and Family Relations. Additionally, he was employed by Brigham Young University-Idaho as an online student teacher for the Book of Mormon. He loved the scriptures and held a firm testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ, whom he held as his eternal Savior.

Sjon was an incredible husband, who was compassionate, caring, full of joy with a constant smiling face. All who had the privilege of knowing and loving him will miss him.

He is survived by his wife, Hannah Elizabeth Johnson; parents, Stephen Casey Johnson and Pearlette Hicks Johnson; siblings Krystle Pearl Johnson, Ian Stephen Johnson, and Maegen Alexandria Johnson; grandparents, Stephen Morgan Johnson, Thelma Luella Johnson and Pearl Jean Hicks. I am truly sorry for the loss of your husband. The death of a loved one is extremely difficult to deal with. Many have found comfort in the many promises found in God's word the Bible. Acts 24:15 has special meaning for many because it gives us the hope of seeing our loved ones again. Please embrace this beautiful promise along with others and may they bring you comfort and hope in the days ahead. (Isaiah 25:8)
