Albert John Foster

ALBERT JOHN FOSTER, SR. went to Heaven on August 14, 2013. He was born in Houston, Texas on December 27, 1927.  Albert graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1945.  He married his high school sweetheart, Mildred Burford, and they celebrated 68 years of marital happiness in March.
  
Albert was a devoted employee of Frank Horlock’s Pearl and Miller Beer Distributor.  He was a local truck driver/salesman.  He was in the beer business for so many years that he knew generation after generation of bar owners throughout Houston.  Albert was an advocate for all unjustly treated, whether person or creature. He served as President of the Teamster BWU 1111 and believed that one of his major achievements while in office was setting up the Teamster BWU 1111Credit Union.  Albert loved hunting, fishing, rebuilding engines, model T cars, sailing, flying, and could build a house from the bottom up.  He enjoyed life to the fullest.

Albert is preceded in death by his Mother: Lena McGinney. Father: James K. Foster Sr., Sister: Juanita Clarke (R.G.), Brother: James K. Foster Jr., son in law: Thomas Michael Schwarz and niece: Carolyn Clarke.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred; his daughter, Dawn Ilene Schwarz; son, Albert John Foster Jr. and wife, Beverly; granddaughter, Elizabeth Anne Salinas; great granddaughter, Alexandra Angel Salinas; and, numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Contributions in Albert’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice.

I became acquainted with Albert Foster only three months ago, however his kind and warm nature will forever be in my memory. During our visits, I became fond of his amazing sense of humor and happy nature. He told me about his love for his wife Mildred and daughter Dawn, and thanked me many times over...with his award winning smile..for the cup of coffee that I brought to him
