Today something happened that I thought never would. I wish it could be undone, oh, if it only could. I realize the memories I've made will be all there is. My grandfather's memories, mine and his. See, my grandfather passed away today and will never be back. And now it's moments with him that I will sadly lack. But I guess he's in a better place. He resides in Heaven, and is surrounded by God's grace. He can stay with me in a place inside my heart. And of me, he can still be a part. I MISS YOU :0(
A hero you were to me, Strong yet loving. The memory will never fade Your presence I will always see. A Veteran of the war so proud, you never backed down from a fight. Such a gentle Grandfather with a laugh so loud. Images of You Pass Through My Mind, These images I will forever cherish. Unlike life, they will never perish. Seeing you that day hit me so hard. I did not know what to say. I cried for you then, and I cry for you now. Though I know you are in a better place. Thank you Grandpa Tolley for giving me the memories, for letting me carry you to your final place of rest. my first one came from you, I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!!

My earliest memory with you papa was at age 5, we sat in the doorway and you taught me how to cross my eyes. From that point on, the funny faces to one another continued for the next 28 years. You were my teacher, counselor, confidant, psychologist, but most of all my friend. I will miss waking up tiredly, walking into your room and going back to sleep for a bit while you sit doing your puzzles. I will miss laying in bed with insomnia, and you take a seat at the end of my bed to talk about nothing. I cherished those days we sat together outside and took note of the beauty surrounding us. I will forever miss you and my heart will continue to ache for you. I take comfort in knowing you are with my Baby Gina in heaven waiting on the rest of us to join back with you! I love you papa I will forever have a piece missing from my heart, yet still filled with love.
